This one is an oldie but a goodie! Sing-Along Song, by JoAnn Early Macken, may have debuted in 2004, but it's still the perfect little book to keep the kiddies singing.

In Sing-Along Song, an exuberant little brown-skinned toddler with a twinkle in his eye and a song in his heart, celebrates the wonder and comfort of the familiar sounds of life as he goes through his day. He "whoofs" with the family dog, "mews" with the cat, and even does a buzz-buzzing duet with a bumble bee in search of it's next slurp of nectar.

This sweet, well-illustrated book (LeUyen Pham, artist) serves up wholesome goodness on several levels: It identifies and matches sounds with the animals, birds or insects that make them; it paints a quaint portrait of a typical family's loving interaction with each other; and it establishes routines and situations that pre-k readers of every race, creed and ethnicity can easily identify with.

This is a happy book that is sure to make the perfect addition to your child's library, so pick up your copy and get ready to sing along!

Best wishes and happy reading,

Rita Lorraine
