Mikaila is a ten-year old Texan whose “social mission-driven” lemonade business received a thumbs-up from Shark Tank…and a $60,000 investment!
As the story goes, when Mikaila four years old, she was stung by bees twice in one week. But instead of allowing her to revel in her fear of bees, her parents encouraged her to do some research. According to Mikaila, "I did that research and in doing that research I found out how incredibly important pollinators they are and that they're dying. So I decided to create a product that helps save the bees."
Mikaila decided to start a business using her great-grandmother's 1940's flaxseed lemonade recipe, with honey as a sweetener. People loved the recipe so much that she graduated from selling it at a lemonade stand to bottling it for stores and restaurants.
